League Tag Gala Day

On Monday, June 2nd, students in K-2 enjoyed an exhilarating League Tag gala day hosted by the Parramatta Eels! The event buzzed with excitement as students engaged in friendly matches against their peers. They were instructed in the skills of the game and received constructive feedback throughout the day. It was heartwarming to witness our students supporting and cheering for one another. A memorable highlight for many was the opportunity to meet players from the Parramatta Eels women's team, whose presence inspired our young athletes.

A big thank you goes out to the teachers for organising such a fabulous sporting event.

Paul Kelly Cup Regional Finals

On Tuesday 27th May, the Paul Kelly Cup team competed in the Western Sydney Regional Finals at Blacktown International Sports Park. The team played three thrilling games and endured some very close scores, with an unbelievable win in the second round of 45-0. Although they didn't progress to the next level, all students demonstrated teamwork and some very impressive skills in all positions; forwards, mids and backs, throughout their games. Rai D and Neo G received Giants medals for their outstanding involvement and contributions to the team on the day. A fantastic effort and achievement to make it to this level for all students involved.

2C Clever Cats.

This week I was fortunate enough to have little visitors from 2C come to my office and share their most informative writing about Great White Sharks. It was an absolute pleasure for them to read their Information reports to me. They were so informative, well structured and the students read them so fluently.

Congratulations 2C what a lovely visit it was.

Australian Football State Championships

The NSW Primary Schools Sports Association (NSWPSSA) Australian Football State Championships bring together the state's most talented primary school players for an exciting showcase of skill and sportsmanship. This event features 14 regional teams from across New South Wales. It runs across 3 days and is being held at Blacktown International Sports park and Greenway Park, West Hoxton.

This year Rai D was fortunate enough to be representing the Sydney West Region in the championships.

Rai was fortunate enough to be playing in front of his big brother Joey D an up and coming star of the GWS Giants. We wish Rai all the best in the last day of the carnival and celebrate both the boys’ successes over the last couple of weeks.

GWS player Josaia Delana Returns to Kings Langley Public School

Last week we were excited to welcome back former student Josaia Delana who was recently drafted to the GWS Giants AFL team. Josaia made a special visit to reconnect with us and celebrate our students' participation in the Paul Kelly Cup competition.

During his visit, Josaia ran an AFL training drill with students, sharing professional tips and encouraging them to stay active and passionate about sport. He also spoke to students about his journey from KLPS to becoming an AFL player, inspiring students to dream big and work hard.

Autographs were signed, GWS Giants posters were handed out and the school community were offered tickets to attend a GWS AFL match.

We are incredibly proud of Joey's achievements and grateful for his continued support and connection to Kings Langley Public School. We wish him all the best for a successful AFL career and thank him for giving back to the school where it all began.

Opposite Day Fun Raises Funds for Stewart House

Our recent SRC Fundraiser – Opposite Day was a great success and brought plenty of fun and laughter to Kings Langley Public School! Students embraced the spirit of the day by coming to school in all sorts of creative "opposite" outfits — from wearing pyjamas and miss-matched shoes to sporting inside-out shirts, backwards clothes and even swapping roles with teachers! Some students dressed up as teachers, while some teachers got into the fun by dressing as students.

The day not only encouraged creativity and school spirit but also supported a great cause. Thanks to the generosity of our school community, we raised $614.30 for Stewart House, a charity that provides care and support to children in need.

Well done to the SRC for organising such a fun event, and to everyone who took part and donated.

Teacher Collaboration and Professional Learning

This week, Caddies Creek PS partnered with Kings Langley and Marayong Heights PS to strengthen teaching through classroom visits and collaboration. Teachers observed literacy lessons, explored phonics and comprehension strategies, and shared evidence-based practices. Professional discussions focused on building strong foundations in reading and fostering effective feedback.
